Can I have my car towed without the keys?

I lost my keys at some point during the day while I was at work, but I can’t leave my car where I parked it overnight—am I able to have my car towed back home even without the keys?

Sorry to hear about your lost keys! Fortunately, however, you do not need to have your keys to have your vehicle towed. After all, illegally parked cars are towed all the time without having access to their keys, so most tow truck drivers are equipped to deal with these types of situations.
When a tow truck driver does not have access to a vehicle’s keys, they will refrain from letting the car’s drive wheels touch the road by using a set of dollies or a trailer that lifts the vehicle off the road entirely.
This can even be done by amateurs as long as you have another vehicle capable of towing your car, a set of dollies to keep the drive wheels off the ground, a tow strap/rope, and a set of tow hooks.
Towing usually isn’t covered under your own insurance plan, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have one. Licensed
