Can I get car insurance for just one month?

I am fixing up my car before I sell it. My GEICO insurance policy expires at the end of this month, but I think it will take me two months to get the car ready. What will happen with my insurance? I don't want to pay for six months and only use it for two.

“Great question—no one wants to pay for coverage that they won’t use!
Every carrier in every state can be different. With GEICO, there isn’t a cancellation fee for the policy unless you live in North Carolina.
Once your car has a new owner and the title is signed over, you can cancel your GEICO insurance with just a phone call or email. “
