Can I get an electric car without a garage?
I live in a densely populated city, so I only ever drive occasionally for relatively short distances. I think that driving an electric car would be perfect for my lifestyle, but I live in a condo building without access to a garage. Can I still buy an electric car if I don’t have a garage to charge it in?

Having a garage to charge your electric vehicle overnight is convenient, but it’s not completely necessary.
If you don’t have access to a home charger or even a standard 120-volt electrical outlet where you can do level-one charging, electric car owners have a few other options such as:
- Talk to your landlord or HOA about the possibility of installing Level 2 chargers onsite or in the shared parking area with other members of your neighborhood, building, or apartment complex.
- Charge your car at work or ask your workplace if they have any plans to install electric car chargers.
- Join an online community of other electric car drivers to find convenient places to charge your car.
