Can I cancel my Ford extended warranty?

I’m getting ready to sell my Ford, and it still has some of the extended warranty coverage left. I’m not interested in trying to transfer that to a new owner, so can I just cancel it?

You can cancel a Ford extended warranty.
Ford Protect warranties can be canceled whether you’re selling your car privately or trading it in. They can also be canceled if your vehicle is stolen or totaled.
It’s best to contact your original dealer to get the cancelation process started, and you’ll need to be sure you have the following information ready to provide when you do:
  • Your full name and contact information
  • Your vehicle identification number (VIN)
  • Odometer statement or reading
  • Cancelation effective date (date of vehicle sale)
  • Copy of the original application for contract
  • Proof of payment for the contract/verification of price
Whether you’re buying a new vehicle to replace your old Ford or continuing to drive one you already have, make sure you’ve got it covered with quality
