I work as a carpenter. I'm concerned about someone stealing my tools. Can I buy insurance for them?

“As a carpenter, your tools are your lifeblood. So if you need insurance on your tools, you have a few options.
First, check with your
car insurance
company. Companies typically offer a wide range of insurance products and services, so they may offer a tool and equipment policy. This policy is often also known as Inland Marine Coverage.
Another option is looking at your home or renters insurance policies. Both typically offer coverage for personal effects or property. If your tools are stolen from your vehicle or home, you may be able to claim them under your policy.
If you work for a business, they may also have insurance to cover theft while you are on the clock. Alternatively, you could install an
anti theft device
in your vehicle to prevent break-ins.
While car insurance won’t cover theft of tools, you may want to see if you can bundle renters or home insurance to protect your tools and save you money. That’s when
