Can I buy RV insurance for a business van?

I'm starting a company and I'm going to buy a van. I will be using it sometimes as a personal vehicle, but mainly for business. I heard RV insurance is cheaper than a commercial policy. Is this the insurance I should get?

“Congratulations on the start of your business! While insurance isn’t always the glamorous side of business ownership, knowledge of what insurance you need is integral to protecting your assets and livelihood.
If you’ll be buying your
van for business
, even if it’s only part of the time, you would be required to get a commercial policy. A personal
car insurance
or RV insurance policy would not cover any business use.
This means if you’re in an accident while working, your insurance would likely deny your claim if you only had an RV policy. You also would be misrepresenting yourself on an insurance application. Every personal auto or RV policy asks if you’re using the vehicle for business use.
Beyond this, only certain types of vans qualify for RV policies. Even if you were solely using your van for personal use, it would need permanent fixtures like a bed or kitchen.
To determine what type of commercial policy would be best, do some research and then compare rates on the
Jerry
app. In just minutes, you can determine the best type of policy for your business needs. And hey, you can even deduct the premiums on your next tax bill! It’s a win-win situation.”
