Can I apply for a driving license in another district?

I live with my mom right now, but I’ll be moving out after I get my license. I’m hoping that I can get my license in the state where I’ll be living after I move out, just to make things easier. Is this possible?

It’s so exciting that you’re already planning your move! The short answer to this question is no, you can’t apply for a
driving license
in another district or state. To get a driver’s license in a specific state, you must be able to prove your residence there. This is because driving laws vary from state to state, so the driving exam can differ depending on where you live.
Once you have an established address in your new home state, you’ll need to visit the DMV. Most states will require that you provide:
  1. Your old license
  2. Proof of residency (such as a utility bill)
  3. Proof of your social security number
  4. Proof of your birth date
Some states will have different requirements than others, though, so be sure to check the requirements yourself before heading to the DMV. You might also have to take the written exam before you’re granted a new license, so it’s worth glancing over a practice test or two to prepare.
When you move states, you’ll also have to update your car insurance. The
