Can home insurance be transferred to a new owner?

I’m in the process of selling my house. While talking to the buyers, I let slip how much I pay for home insurance. They liked my rates and asked if I could transfer my home insurance policy to them. Is it possible to transfer a homeowners insurance policy to someone else?

It sounds like negotiations for your house are going well. However, you cannot transfer home insurance to a new owner. 
Home insurance rates are set by providers on a case-by-case basis. Your policy will be canceled when you leave your old home, and the new owners will have to open their own policy.
