Can companies like Progressive require that I use a specific facility for car repairs?
I need to take my car in for repairs after an accident. Do I have to use the shop the insurer recommends?
“No, car insurance companies can’t force you to use a specific provider for your repairs. You have the right to repair your vehicle at the shop of your choice, even if Progressive provides a list of recommended options.
When looking for your own repair shop, you should keep in mind that the insurance company will not pay for more than the cost of repairs determined by an adjuster. “

I live in Dallas, TX. I plan on canceling my car insurance once I sell my car. I want to get a new car eventually, but don't want to rush buying it. I heard that you are charged higher rates if you don't have insurance continuously. Is that true?

What should I do if my car was hit by an uninsured driver?
My car was totaled in an accident with an uninsured driver. I only had liability coverage at the time and was partially at fault. I called after the accident to get higher coverage applied to my vehicle, but my insurance is denying the claim. I still owe $7,000 on my loan. What now?
