Can an SR-22 cover any vehicle I drive?

Would my SR-22 cover a vehicle I borrow as well? I have an SR-22 on my current car insurance policy.

In most cases,
SR-22 car insurance
can cover virtually any vehicle you drive—but it depends on what type of filing you have.
If your SR-22 is registered with the state as an owner/operator filing (most common): Your SR-22 will cover any vehicle that you drive. It will cover your own vehicle as well as a car you rent or borrow.
If you only have an owner filing: It will only cover the vehicle that you own.
While it doesn’t apply to you, an operator filing would be for when you don’t own a vehicle but often rent or borrow one. This is called
non-owner car insurance
.
To confirm the type of filing that your insurance company has submitted to the DMV: You can reach out to your insurer or the DMV directly.
