Can a car used for Turo be added to a standard insurance policy?

"Can I add a car used for Turo to my current Progressive policy? My friend makes a lot of money by working for Turo. I thought about doing the same thing, but I would buy a different car to use as the rental."

“As of now, there isn’t a standard insurance carrier that provides insurance while your car is rented. If you were to add the vehicle to your Progressive policy and an accident occurs, the claim would be denied.
Turo does offer host insurance that is provided by Liberty Mutual. This is probably the simplest way to insure your vehicle.
Another option is to look into a commercial auto policy. Reach out to a local car insurance broker. They will know best about available carriers in your area and can walk you through your options.”
