Are there any Ford Explorer Sport Trac recalls?
I have a Ford Explorer Trac and I’ve been experiencing some consistent issues. I’m wondering if it’s related to any sort of recall. Has the Ford Explorer Sport Trac had any recalls?

Across all model years, the
Ford Explorer Sport Trac
has had 5 National Highway Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA) recalls. Here’s what they are:
- In 2000, several Explorer Sport Trac models—across several model years—were recalled for a faulty hood striker, which may have caused the hood to fly open while the vehicle was being driven.
- In 2003, severalFordvehicles were recalled because they were equipped with courtesy lights manufactured by American Technology Components, INC. that may overheat when the wires are exposed to excessive moisture and/or road salt.
- In 2004, many Explorer Sport Tracs were recalled because the liftgate glass strut was at risk of becoming disengaged and/or the hinge could fall, causing the glass to fall and potentially shatter.
- In 2007, Ford Explorer Sport Tracs equipped with the 4.6-liter engine and the 6R transmission were recalled because the bolt securing the transmission oil cooler line fittings and the transmission may not have been sufficiently torqued during assembly. As a result, the bolt could become loose, ultimately resulting in thetransmission fluid leaking.
- In 2010, Ford recalled several of their 2010 model year vehicles that were equipped with a manual front seat recliner, because parts of the seat did not comply with federal regulations.
