Are there any Acura RSX recalls?

My son is considering buying an Acura RSX, but I want to research its safety before he buys it. Were there any recalls on the Acura RSX model?

Getting the scoop on a car and any potential issues is always a good idea before you commit. According to the NHTSA, there have been 16 Acura RSX recalls on models from 2001 to 2006.
Here’s what you need to know for each model year from 2001 to 2006:
  • 2006: 2 recalls — Brake booster may have a vacuum leak, incorrect owner’s manual hotline information
  • 2005: 2 recalls — FMVSS 108/Amber Side Reflectors, FMVSS 108/Headlamp/Amber Side Reflex Reflectors
  • 2004: 4 recalls — FMVSS 108/Aftermarket Combination Lamps, FMVSS 108/Amber Side Reflectors, FMVSS 108/Headlamp/Amber Side Reflex Reflectors (2 recalls)
  • 2003: 4 recalls — FMVSS 108/Aftermarket Combination Lamps, FMVSS 108/Amber Side Reflectors, FMVSS 108/Headlamp/Amber Side Reflex Reflectors (2 recalls)
  • 2002: 4 recalls — FMVSS 108/Aftermarket Combination Lamps, FMVSS 108/Amber Side Reflectors, FMVSS 108/Headlamp/Amber Side Reflex Reflectors (2 recalls)
If you think your vehicle may be affected by one of these recalls, there are a couple of ways to check. First, log onto the Acura website and enter the car’s VIN. Alternatively, contact your local Honda/Acura dealership or contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153).
