Are there a lot of GMC Envoy recalls?

I’m interested in buying a used GMC Envoy, but I’m worried about recalls affecting its trade-in value later. Are there a lot of GMC Envoy recalls?

There are currently several
GMC Envoy
recalls, most commonly with model years of the early 2000s.
The most numerous GMC Envoy recalls are for the 2002 GMC Envoy, with 16 recalls issued to date. Some of those recalls include problems with the air suspension, seat belt assemblies, and windshield wiper assembly.
The 2003
GMC
Envoy has ten recalls, with issues related to the driver’s side airbag, airbag inflators, and turn signal favor.
There are plenty of model years of the GMC Envoy that remain recall-free, including:
  • 1995-1997
  • 2008
  • 2010-2013
Fortunately, when vehicle recalls are issued, you can have them repaired at no cost, which minimizes their impact on the value of your car. In some cases, it’s possible the improvement could even boost your car’s value.
In many cases, recalls end up having very little effect on a vehicle’s resale value. It’s when your vehicle has an open recall that you’ll usually get lower trade-in offers.
You can check for new GMC Envoy recalls by checking the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website at nhtsa.gov, as well as ongoing investigations and consumer complaints.
