Are landlords notified when the police are called?
I live in a rented house. I had a party last weekend and it got pretty rowdy. There were several noise complaints and the police were called on us. We quieted down, but now I’m nervous my landlord is going to be upset. Are landlords notified when the police are called?

I hope you enjoyed your party! While no one wants the police called on them, it’s unlikely your landlord was notified when the police were called.
When the police show up at a residence due to a noise complaint or other type of incident, they typically don’t request a landlord’s information. They may simply ask who lives at the apartment or home and request to speak to them.
While the police themselves likely didn’t reach out to your landlord, if neighbors know your landlord, they could inform them about the situation. Additionally, if the police have been called to your home several times or for more serious matters, the police may reach out to your landlord.
If there is a noise clause in your lease, you could risk eviction or other penalties by having parties or neighbors complaining. In this case, if you’re nervous, you can reach out to your landlord to explain the situation. Otherwise, you can let it go and not let it happen again!
