Are F1 cars equipped with traction control?

I’ve been watching some Formula One and it’s inspired me to look into F1 cars! I was just wondering if the cars come equipped with traction control.

After watching the precision with which Formula One racers drive, it’s no surprise that you’re wondering if the cars have traction control.
The answer is no, F1 cars do not come equipped with traction control. Traction control would be considered cheating in a Formula One race since it would assist a driver and provide them with an unfair advantage.
Since making F1 cars adds to the skill
that drivers
need to race with them, it makes the races more interesting to watch. This is why traction control is just one of many driving assist features that are not present on F1 cars.
Traction control was allowed for a brief period in Formulas One’s history but has been banned since 2008. Some other banned features include:
  • Four-wheel steering
  • Turbo
    engines
  • Six-wheel cars
Although Formula One cars may not have access to the same safety features as your everyday vehicle, there is a good reason for that. F1 cars are driven by professionals who know how to handle their cars no matter the situation.
If you take the time to revisit your car insurance plan, you may be able to save hundreds of dollars every year.
