I live in a cold climate and was wondering if electric cars stay warm in the winter?

Ah yes, electric vehicles (EVs) not being warm in the winter is a common myth that circulates. **Fear not, electric cars are warm in the winter! **With that said, extreme cold does cause the battery to drain more quickly.
- If possible,** keep your electric car stored in a garage and plugged in**. Yes, garages are cold but not as bad as being directly in the elements.
- To keep your battery from draining more quickly, limit the use of the heater while relying on the seat warmers to keep you warm (they drain less energy).
- If your car has an “eco” mode, engage it. That will help conserve more energy in your battery.
So yes, an EV does stay warm in the winter but at cost of less battery efficiency. However, with each passing year, technology is improving exponentially. I imagine it won’t be long until this is a problem of the past.
