Are electric cars more fun to drive?
Are electric cars more fun to drive than regular cars? I’ve read a lot of your responses to answers on the site, and it sounds like electric cars are usually faster than gas-powered vehicles, but are pretty quiet on the road. Are they still fun to get behind the wheel of?

The answer really depends on what you enjoy as a driver, though electric cars can be more fun to drive. Your taste in vehicles is subjective, but if you’re referring to the power and responsiveness of electric vehicles, remember that they’re quite different from a normal car in terms of horsepower and torque. Electric cars don’t really give out the familiar revving sound that many motors make as the RPMs kick up in order to provide acceleration.
This is because there’s no internal combustion happening in the engine, so the motor isn’t making any noise to accelerate. Instead, the push forward from a standstill happens rather instantaneously.
Electric cars can be a lot more fun, with some like Tesla’s Model S having a 0-60 time of a cool three seconds or less. The only drawback (but environmental benefit) of electric cars is that they aren’t noisy, so you aren’t going to hear yourself accelerate. If that’s not a big deal, they’re a great way to burn rubber (legally) without burning fossil fuels at the same time.
With muscle cars like the Hellcat disappearing quickly, many fans of performance-oriented gas cars may find themselves switching out their current favorites for the electric vehicle version, like the Mustang Mach-E, or if they can wait, Dodge’s eMuscle lineup.
