Are electric cars good for highway driving?
I do a lot of highway driving. I know some gasoline vehicles are more efficient than others on the highway. Is the same thing true for electric cars? Should I switch to electric or stick with my conventional car?

, you have nothing to fear. Electric cars run much more efficiently than internal combustion engines (ICE), both on the highway and otherwise.
An electric drivetrain only loses 15% to 20% of its energy in the process of running. That’s a drop in the bucket compared to the 64% to 75% losses of a gasoline engine.
Like gas cars, efficiency changes from model to model. Some EVs are more efficient during city driving while others run better on the highway. But the real thing that separates the good electric highway ride from the bad isn’t really efficiency—it’s range.
Highway driving usually involves longer distances than city driving, and a few current electric cars might still get you in a pickle if you’re planning a long road trip.
The 200+ miles of range available from most new EVs on the market will likely get you where you want to go without any issue. Just be sure to pay attention to the weather, as temperatures lower than 20° F will eat up your battery life pretty quickly.
