I’m sorry to hear you’re struggling. The past two years have been tough for everyone, so you’re not alone.
Since you live in
Pennsylvania
, you can’t get a title loan since they’re illegal. Due to the nature of title loans, they are only legal in 20 states.
A
title loan
is a loan in which you trade the title of your car for quick cash. Title loans have a high annual percentage rate, which can lead to a cycle of debt and repossession of your car.
Some options you may want to consider instead are:
  • Talking to those to whom you owe money (credit card or loan companies) and ask for extensions or short-term help
  • Ask friends and family for help
  • Check local community resources like churches or libraries for financial advice programs/assistance
  • Reaching out to your bank or financial institution for help or solutions
  • If a collections agency is already contacting you, reach out to them and set up a repayment plan–most agencies are helpful when it comes to working with you
A title loan might sound like a good option, but it’s considered predatory lending and is banned in many states for that reason.
