Are brake pads covered under the Ford warranty?

I was driving my Ford this morning when I noticed a grinding noise every time I braked. I could also feel the vibration in the brake pedal. After an inspection, I noticed that the brake pads appeared worn—will the Ford warranty cover my brake pads?

Good thing you checked! Brake pads have a specific warranty from Ford that doesn’t fall under the powertrain or basic warranties—the warranty for brake pads is up to 12 months or 18,000 miles, whichever comes first. If you’re still within this timeframe, Ford will likely cover the cost of replacement for your brake pads.
If you’re outside of this warranty, you’ll have to pay for the brake pads on your own. The cost is roughly $200 per axle, depending on whether you have two-wheel, four-wheel, or all-wheel drive.
Since the cost to replace brake pads isn’t all that expensive, you can easily offset the cost of the replacement in just a month or two by lowering your
