Are all Dodge Chargers AWD?

After saving for over a year, I’m finally ready to pull the trigger on a Dodge Charger. However, it’s a lot of power and I have minimal experience with a brawny V6 or V8 engine. As such, I’d really like to get all-wheel drive (AWD) on my vehicle. Do all Chargers come with AWD?

Not all Dodge Chargers are AWD. It depends on the model year and trim. That said, all Dodge Chargers come with standard rear-wheel drive (RWD). Coupled with a zippy engine, control can be a bit tough, but only if you rapidly accelerate from a stop. If you drive defensively, you shouldn’t have an issue.
If you really want AWD, review these options to find a Charger that offers this drivetrain:
  • R/T versions produced prior to 2015 have available AWD.
  • All SE trims have available AWD.
  • Most Rallye and SXT trims come with AWD, but it depends on the model year.
  • The Hellcat, Scat Pack, and SRT8 do not offer AWD on any model year.
No matter what trim of the Charger you decide to buy, don’t peel out when it comes to your car insurance. By taking just a few minutes on the
