Will filing claims for acts of nature cause my car insurance premium to rise?

My car was damaged by a really bad hail storm. I know that's an "act of nature" and not my fault. If I file a claim with my car insurance company for the repairs, will my rates go up?

“Filing claims for acts of nature may cause your premiums to increase, but it depends on a couple factors.
You will likely see your premiums increase if the claim for the hail damage is over $2,000 or if you have multiple claims on your driving history, especially in a short period of time.
Before thinking about rates, you want to make sure you have comprehensive car insurance. Comprehensive car insurance includes acts of nature (or acts of god) like hail. Without this coverage, you likely won’t be covered.
