What kinds of belongings does home insurance cover in case of theft?
I was the victim of a home robbery previously when I didn't have insurance. I don't want to experience that again. What items does insurance protect against theft?

Your personal belongings such as furniture, clothing, and electronics are covered for theft. This protection falls under your “personal property coverage.” Standard coverage is usually enough for many homeowners, but there are often limits as to how much can be paid out for certain belongings. If you own high-value items such as jewelry or artwork, you may want to consider buying some additional coverage.
