I'm trying to sort through the different types of home insurance coverage as I prepare to buy a house. What is personal property coverage?

Personal property coverage protects the contents of your home. This includes clothing, furniture, appliances, electronics, dishes, sporting goods, and toys. This form of coverage is commonly found in standard home insurance policies.
