What information about my home should I have prepared when I'm shopping for insurance?
I'm on the hunt for new home insurance. What info do I need to have when getting quotes?
When shopping for home insurance, it is helpful to have your current policy in front of you. Your current policy will have all the information that is needed for the new one. One of the most important pieces is your mortgage information. The insurance documents need to be sent to an address specified by the mortgage company, and that can be found on your current policy. If you do not have current insurance, you can call your mortgage company and ask, “What address needs to be on my home insurance for the mortgage?”
It is also helpful to know the many details of your home, like square footage, the year the property was built, if/when the HVAC system was last updated, if/when the roof was last replaced, etc. By providing some of these details, you could get additional savings off your home insurance.

Is car battery replacement available 24/7 with most roadside assistance programs?
If my car battery dies at any time day or night, will roadside assistance give me a jump or replace my battery? I don't think this will happen, but I want to make sure I'm covered in case it does.

How can I make sure the claim payout is enough to pay my car loan in full?
I was involved in an accident where the other driver hit me and was at fault. Her insurance company is trying to pay me $6,500 for my car, but I still owe $9,200 on the loan. It isn't fair that I will be out of a car and still have to make car payments. What can I do?
