Thanks for your question! In New York, the state-minimum limits are:
- 25/50 for bodily injury: $25,000 per person and $50,000 per accident if you cause a collision and someone in the other car gets hurt.
- $10,000 for property damage: This will fix the other person’s car if you hit someone.
- $50,000 mandatory no-fault coverage: This is already included in all New York policies.

When a home insurance company asks if there was a recent claim, who does this question apply to?
I'm buying my first house and shopping for home insurance online. When an insurance company asks if there was a claim in the last five years, are they asking if I made a claim or if anyone living in the house made a claim?

How can I decrease my car insurance cost after moving to a new state?
I moved from NY to NJ and GEICO doubled my insurance rate. Is there anything that I can do to decrease the amount? I drive a 2009 Kia Rio, paid off. Do I need collision coverage?
