I'm a New York resident and I'm about to buy my first car. How much car insurance coverage do I need in New York?
I live in upstate New York and I'm 22 years old. I'm about to buy my first car and I want to be totally above board and legal. How much car insurance do I need?
Thanks for your question! In New York, the state-minimum limits are:
- 25/50 for bodily injury: $25,000 per person and $50,000 per accident if you cause a collision and someone in the other car gets hurt.
- $10,000 for property damage: This will fix the other person’s car if you hit someone.
- $50,000 mandatory no-fault coverage: This is already included in all New York policies.

Can I back out of a car loan if I haven't signed anything?
Can I take the car back if I haven't signed a contract? The car dealer allowed me to drive the car home. While I'm sitting in my house with the car in the driveway, I suddenly got buyer's remorse.

Where can I sleep overnight in a van?
I'm planning a cross-country road trip and I'm going to need to scope out places to stay along the way. Are there certain types of land that are better for overnight parking or places that I should avoid? I have a renovated campervan, but it doesn't have running water, so it would be good to be close to that.
