How will a carpool lane violation affect my car insurance premium?

I was driving to work in California a few days ago and was pulled over for using the carpool lane when it was just me in the car. Is this going to make my auto insurance more expensive? I feel like I'm already paying a lot...

Answer
Thanks for the question! A carpool lane violation in California is charged as an infraction instead of a moving violation, and it doesn’t result in points on your driver’s license. This means it won’t impact your insurance premium.
