Do you have any tips on how to get good, affordable car insurance for a college student who wants her own policy?
I'm a college student and I've moved out of my parents' place permanently. Now I need my own car insurance policy. How do I get good insurance that's reasonably priced?

Thanks for your question! For a younger college student who wants their own policy, I recommend getting an older car you can just carry liability on. It’s also important to maintain a clean driving record; practicing defensive driving will help with this. You may also qualify for student discounts.

My cousin is buying a new car through Carvana and the salesperson is recommending that she add on their warranty, theft protection, and gap insurance. They said that car insurance companies will provide discounts for having these on her vehicle. Is that true?
