If your previous homeowners insurance policy was canceled due to underwriting reasons, it may be difficult to find a new company that will take you. Most insurance companies have very similar underwriting guidelines that will inevitably cancel you for similar reasons. Additionally, during the application process, most insurance companies will ask you if you’ve been canceled within the past year due to underwriting reasons, and they may decline you for this reason.
If your previous homeowners policy was canceled due to non-payment rather than underwriting concerns, you should not have trouble finding new coverage.

Why do I have to pay $220 a month for car insurance in Texas?
My full-coverage insurance on a 2020 Nissan Pathfinder costs $220 each month. I'm 42, and I have one at-fault accident (no injuries) and one ticket for failing to stop at a stop sign on my record, which I don't think is that bad. Why am I paying so much?
