How do you remove paint overspray from car windows?

Unfortunately, I was doing some painting work on my car and got some overspray on the windows. How do I remove it?

Oh no! You’ll want to clean the overspray up as soon as possible to avoid any long-lasting damage!
Removing paint
from any part of the car can be a pain, but, by following these steps, you should be good to go:
  • Using a retractable safety scraper or razor blade, scrape the paint off the window carefully.
  • Pour a solvent like acetone, paint thinner, or mineral spirits onto a soft rag.
  • You want to use enough solvent to wet the rag, but not enough for it to drip.
  • Wipe the window with the rag. The coat of overspray should come off.
  • Once removed, apply the solvent again. This should thoroughly clean the window and eliminate streaking. Make sure to wipe it with a fresh cloth.
  • Wash your car with soapy, warm water.
Hopefully, that should take care of any overspray on your car!
For any stubborn spots, consider visiting a professional. An autobody repair shop or even a professional detailer may be able to help remove anything left behind.
