What makes Hyundai the ‘Best SUV Brand’?
U.S. News praised Hyundai’s SUV lineup for it’s range of options. The company has an SUV for every type of buyer, from the luxurious Palisade, right down to the modest, subcompact Venue.
Hyundai has shown a commitment to offering the latest in driver assistance and infotainment technology to all of its customers. Judges were appreciative of this attention to quality and safety, even on Hyundai’s cheapest models.
Individually, Hyundai’s SUVs are performing well in U.S. News and World Reports’ influential rankings.
The 2022 Hyundai Palisade is #1 in the Midsize SUV category, the 2022 Tucson is #1 in the Compact category, and the 2021 Hyundai Kona tops the list of Subcompact SUVs.
Hyundai still lagging behind in U.S. sales
Winning the Best SUV Brand award is a big deal in the automotive industry, but Hyundai is still lagging behind its rivals when it comes to sales.
So far in 2021, Hyundai has sold 632,707 units in the U.S. While this represents a 26.93% year-over-year increase, it’s not great compared to the total number of vehicles sold by Honda (1,139,513), Ford (1,487,740) and Toyota (1,665,603).
Hyundai will hope it’s fast growth rate can continue into next year, propelled by industry praise and a fiercely loyal fanbase.
