Challenger continues to be one of the most beloved muscle cars in production today. It recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, releasing two limited edition models for the occasion. The Dodge Challenger also stays relevant and entices its fans with frequent cameos in television, films, and music videos.
Even the widely available Dodge Challengers are special, and some trims are basically street-legal racecars.
Car and Driver
highlighted the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, one of the quickest and brawniest models.
The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye is one of the quickest and strongest models in the Challenger lineup.

How much power does the 2022 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat have?

This Challenger is named for the legendary Hellcat Hemi V-8 engine that resides under its hood. On the regular SRT Hellcat, it makes 717 horsepower and 656 lb-ft of torque. The SRT Hellcat Redeye steps up its game with 797 horsepower and 707 lb-ft of torque.
On the SRT Hellcat, this beast of an engine is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. The Redeye comes standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission, complete with a manual-shifting mode.
According to C/D, the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye effortlessly rockets to 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds. The buildup is accompanied by a satisfying growl and the engine continues to scream as it is pushed to its limits. The car still manages to feel nimble despite its heavier weight, which also makes it more stable around tight turns.
You get some nice extra performance features, like six-piston Brembo brakes, an adjustable Bilstein suspension, and a racing-specced differential. The only area where it doesn't excel is fuel economy. With the Redeye's automatic transmission, it's rated for just 13/22 mpg city/highway.

The Dodge Challenger’s latest features

The Dodge Challenger's interior definitely isn't as flashy as other cars in the segment, but it's full of retro charm. Although the colors are dull and it has noticeable plastic, everything fits well and doesn't look cheap. Oldschool touches, like the font used for the gauge cluster's numbers, really make the Challenger stand out.
Interior space is thankfully far more generous than what you'd find in many sports cars. The Hellcats come with a highly-adjustable tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, plus an optional Widebody configuration. However, the high windows can emulate the feel of a submarine, and the rear pillars are wide enough to significantly hinder visibility.
Every seat is nicely bolstered to keep riders comfortable throughout the trip. Cloth upholstery is standard, but the Hellcat trims allow you to upgrade to sumptuous Laguna leather. You can also have heating and ventilation for the seats, plus a suede-wrapped or flat-bottom steering wheel.
Every Dodge Challenger comes with smartphone integration, Bluetooth, a couple of USB ports, and a 7-inch touchscreen. You can also opt for a sunroof, keyless start, and an impressive surround-sound stereo. Like the rest of the interior, some argue that the touchscreen interface is a little too dated.
New for this year, the Dodge Challenger comes with an Enhanced Security mode to
keep your car safe from thieves
. If it detects an intruder behind the wheel, it will limit the speed of the car to under 3 horsepower.
