Glöckler did not finish the vehicle in time for his intended race, the 1954 Mille Miglia. It finally did run in a later race, but it had several issues and never raced again.
Despite having such a small moment in the historical spotlight, the Glöckler-Porsche 356 sticks out among classic car enthusiasts. Part of this is due to the vehicle’s visual oddities. Its otherwise sleek and rounded body is thrown off by sharp tail fins. Glöckler added additional windows to the stock 356 to extend above the doors and throughout the rear.
