Land Rover's Range Rover has long been considered the best SUV among
luxury cars
. While they have had some issues with recalls, Range Rover remains one of the most sought-after luxury SUVs. Recently, the British carmaker released the details for 2022 Range Rovers. All of which should be available for preorder in the coming months. With that in mind, we decided to take a closer look at the new fleet of Range Rovers.
Meet the 2022 Range Rover models

compares the four models in the Range Rover family that will be available for 2022, all offering a unique driving experience. The standard Range Rover is available in several trims. The most basic, named P360, starts at $104,000. The P360 comes with an inline six-cylinder engine that can produce 355 horsepower—not bad for a lower
trim level
. At the other end of the spectrum is the SVAutobiography, which is more than double the cost at $212,350. But it does come with a beefy V-8 that can produce 557 horsepower.
The Range Rover Sport is a midsize SUV, making it more nimble than its bigger brother. Due to supply chain issues, the 2022 Range Rover Sport will have fewer customization options than in previous years. The Sport still has numerous trims to choose from, though, and is a bit cheaper than the standard Range Rover.
The P360 SE comes with an inline six-cylinder engine and starts at $70,900. The top-end trim is the SVR Carbon Edition which packs a V-8 and starts at $132,600.
The Range Rover Velar is Range Rover's compact SUV. This model has been praised as the most comfortable compact SUV but also falls behind the BMW X3 and Porsche Macan in terms of performance.
The Velar offers less customization than the bigger Range Rovers, with only three trims to choose from. The Velar S comes with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine and starts at $58,900. The high-end Velar HSE is equipped with a turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine and starts at $76,900.
The Range Rover Evoque is the tiniest of the bunch and is categorized as a subcompact SUV. Much like the Velar, critics have declared that the Evoque doesn't handle as well as some of the competitors. Specifically, the BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLB-class, and the Volvo XC40 are reported to have better handling. Nonetheless, it's tough to beat the Evoque's exterior design.
The Evoque is the only Range Rover that is available with a hybrid engine on select trims. As Range Rovers are known for being gas guzzlers, spending a little extra for the hybrid engine may save you some money in the long run. The Evoque is the cheapest of the models at its starting price of $44,700.

While most carmakers shifted towards a more bubbly design, Range Rover stayed true to its angular roots. Sure, modern Range Rovers aren't as boxy as previous generations, but they still have dynamic angles that make them stand out in a sea of bubble SUVs.
