background
The 2022
Jeep
Grand Cherokee lineup has now been fully revealed with the announcement of the two-row model. This comes after the reveal of the L model, a three-row variant of the Grand Cherokee. There are other fun Jeep vehicles coming out, like the revival of the Wagoneer, but the launch of a new iconic Grand Cherokee is always exciting.
According to
Car and Driver
, the 2022 Grand Cherokee two-row model will have a price increase from the previous model year. It will also feature several available trim levels, and there will even be a plug-in hybrid model. For drivers who plan on having more passengers, there is a three-row Grand Cherokee too.
Whether you need seating space or off-roading capabilities, the Grand Cherokee has got you covered.

Specs of the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The base two-row model of the Jeep Grand Cherokee is also known as the Laredo, and it comes standard with two-wheel drive. Drivers who want four-wheel drive on the base model can add it for $2,000.
The 2022 Grand Cherokee is powered by a 293-horsepower 3.6-liter V-6 engine. Laredo models feature comfortable cloth seats, and they also come standard with 17-inch wheels.
In terms of pricing, the standard two-wheel drive 2022 Grand Cherokee comes in at $37,785. However, the Laredo just scratches the surface of what’s featured with the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. There are different trims of the two-row model that offer increased luxury or performance.

The Trailhawk Grand Cherokee has the Jeep "Trail Rated" badge and comes standard with four-wheel drive, with other off-road features available. The V-8 model of the Trailhawk has a price of $51,670.
The most expensive of the 2022 Grand Cherokee trims is the Summit Reserve. This model with a V-8 costs $65,260. Luxurious Grand Cherokee models like this come with features like leather seats.

All the Jeep Grand Cherokees discussed so far have been two-row models, but drivers who want something more have an option too. The 2022 Grand Cherokee L features three rows of seating. Interestingly, the 2022 model of the L was released before the standard two-row model.
The Grand Cherokee L is not exclusive to any singular trim model either. According to
Motor1
, different trims, including the high-end Summit Reserve, can come as three-row L models.
Upgrading from two rows to three does not come as expensive as one may expect, either. A base Grand Cherokee L costs $900 more than a standard two-row Grand Cherokee.
For drivers looking for a new SUV, the Jeep 2022 Grand Cherokee comes with different options in comfort and performance to fit their needs. To find out which trim would be best for you, comparison shopping can help.
