Bronco and Raptor have been
Ford
’s biggest two "brands" in recent years.
The Bronco name comes with a line of high-performance vehicles, whereas the F-150 Raptor is a legendary off-roading pickup truck.
Ford has just confirmed that they’re combining the two, creating a powerful Bronco Raptor for 2022. This midsize SUV crossover could just blow all other reveals out of the water.
The Ford Bronco Raptor has been made official.

Ford teases the Bronco Raptor

KBB
reported on the 16-second teaser video Ford shared of the Bronco Raptor.
In the video, you can catch a glimpse of a chunky black grille with the charmingly oversized Ford lettering on top.
This bulky SUV has been revamped in true Bronco style. The Bronco’s signature round lights have added yellow outlines, just as the F-150 Raptor’s lights.
For a touch of dramatic flair, the rest of the teaser video is just swirling dust and logos.
In the next few months, there should be more information on the specs and pricing of the Bronco Raptor as Ford trickles out more details.
For such an exciting crossover, it’s likely that this new SUV will have a more powerful engine, perhaps some sort of turbocharged V-6, as well as suspension upgrades.
The car is planned to debut in 2022, and it will probably be a 2023 model if chip shortages don’t cause unexpected delays.

An evolution from Warthog to Raptor

Earlier this year,
Ford Authority
discussed rumors of an upcoming super high-performance Bronco Warthog. And supposedly, that Warthog was going to be renamed.
It turns out, as Ford has now confirmed, that the company decided to go from Warthog to Raptor.
Since Bronco means "wild horse", the naming essentially went from "horse-pig" to "horse-bird".
What an interesting evolution of names! And a welcome one too, if it means they will be combining the best of the powerful Ford Bronco with the robust F-150 Raptor.

How much will the Bronco Raptor cost?

The 2021 Ford Bronco First Edition starts at $60,800. It’s a good bet to say that the Bronco Raptor will start higher than that, so at least $61,000.
Meanwhile, there are many factors that go into how much auto insurance would cost. That can be a little more complicated to manage.
