Dubai Police Can Drive Faster Than Pretty Much Everybody

The emirate of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates is famous for its ostentatiousness. It is the 12th wealthiest city in the world, and also plays host to the tallest skyscraper in the world.
Billionaires around the world have taken notice of this jewel, and have been moving in droves to take advantage of Dubai’s glittering skyline, luxury car scene, and zero income tax. Fittingly, its police force has an absolutely insane fleet of cars. Here are some of the wild vehicles that could show up in a UAE citizen’s rearview mirror.
Dubai has some crazy fast police cars.

Some of the tamer models

A beautiful car was recently spotted in Milan for a race, according to
National News
. The vehicle in question was a V-8
Mercedes-Benz
SLS, and it was decked out in the white and green markings that denote a member of the Dubai police fleet. The Mercedes was ready to travel the thousand miles from Brescia to Rome, and it would be an impressive sight for all who catch it on its way.
But this Mercedes is far from the only eye-catching car in the famous emirate’s law enforcement arsenal. Accompanying this one are two other Mercedes beauties: the Mercedes-AMG GT63 S, with its twin-turbo V-8 engine, and the Mercedes-Benz G 63, a 4-liter V-8 with a $200,000 price tag. Fans of the Fast & Furious series will appreciate that a 2021 Toyota GR Supra made the cut, minus the iconic orange color. And fans of the electric scene will be happy to see the inclusion of the sleek BMW i8.

A McLaren, Bentley, and other supercars

Now we can get into the truly absurd models. The Dubai police department can count among its fleet the McLaren MP4-12C, Bentley Continental GT, Lamborghini Aventador, Aston Martin One-77, Bugatti Veyron, and Maserati GranTurismo. To put this in perspective, the combined total cost of having one of each of these cars is approximately $6 million, and the cheapest individual car comes in around $134,000.
And we can’t forget the speed and power of these vehicles. The Lamborghini Aventador, for example, can reach speeds of 217 mph without breaking a sweat, and the Bugatti Veyron can get somewhere north of 250 mph. The Maserati is somehow the slowpoke, with a maximum speed of just under 190 mph. If there’s someone to track down in a high-speed chase, the Dubai police have lots of options to choose from.

What cars will they add next?

Dubai’s police already have a collection of cars that would be the envy of any luxury car enthusiast, but they’ve got their eye on the future. Next on the list for acquisition is the much-discussed Tesla Cybertruck, but its release date has been tough to pin down. But if they do ever get their hands on one, it will be a fittingly grand addition to an already spectacular fleet.
