Don't Overlook a Certified Pre-Owned 2018 Honda Pilot

Hondas are well known for their reliability, so you have a better chance of finding a good used one than you do with most other car brands.
But why not take the luck out of it and buy a certified pre-owned (CPO)
Honda
? The automaker thoroughly inspects each one before offering buyers a limited, bumper-to-bumper warranty. You’ll be able to drive away from the dealership without breaking a sweat.
Sounds good, but which Honda should you choose? Well,
Kelley Blue Book
has something to say about that. The car magazine made a list of the best CPO Hondas available, and among them was the 2018 Pilot EX-L.
The 2018 Honda Pilot provides awesome value.

What’s so special about a 2018 Honda Pilot EX-L?

It’s hard to beat a Honda Pilot for a family vehicle. The 2018 model had the best fuel economy in its class that year while still offering ample seating and cargo space.
Buying a used Pilot could give you access to trim levels you might otherwise not be able to afford. KBB suggests upgrading to the EX-L which includes better audio, leather seats, and Honda’s Intelligent Traction Management system. They also think you should opt-in for navigation so you never get lost on those long family road trips.
The EX-L gives you many of Honda’s luxury features without raising the price too high. KBB says you should be able to find a certified pre-owned 2018 model for around $30,000—a full $5,000 cheaper than the Touring or Elite trims.

Why buy a certified pre-owned Honda?

You might be able to find a cheaper Honda online, but buying one through the automaker’s CPO program will likely save you money over the years.
Each vehicle goes through a 182-point inspection before being accepted into the program. Once the examination is complete, Honda’s limited warranty, 24-hour roadside assistance, and two free oil changes take care of you and your family long after you drive your Honda off the dealer’s lot.
Every new Honda comes with a three-year (or 36,000-mile) new-car warranty, plus a seven-year warranty for the powertrain. A CPO "True Certified" warranty adds time to the original, depending on the age of the car.
On a 2018 model with an odometer reading of more than 12,000 miles, Honda’s limited warranty would add one year or another 12,000 miles to the vehicle. Not bad for a four-year-old set of wheels.
