Chevy Got the 2021 Tahoe Interior Right

The interior of the 2021 Chevy Tahoe was well-received by Consumer Reports—but the rest of the SUV was a bit lacking. Despite gushing over the amount of storage and space for both the driver and passenger, Consumer Reports couldn’t help but overlook some key issues, including 10 recalls on the vehicle within the past year.
Still, it’s worth noting that the great features of the 2021 Chevy Tahoe interior could be appealing to those who are willing to take the risk on this less-than-reliable behemoth. And for potential owners, you’ll know what to highlight, if you ever decide to sell
The interior of a 2021 Chevy Tahoe.
The 2021 Chevy Tahoe has a functional and luxurious interior.

The 2021 Tahoe’s well-done interior

If the 2021 Tahoe interior does one thing right, it’s the amount of storage space available in this SUV. Consumer Reports indicated that they loved the:
  • The well-insulated cabin that covers up the sound of the 2021 Tahoe’s 5.3L V8 engine.
  • Ability to seat adult-sized passengers in the third row.
  • Mobile wifi capacity that partners well with armrests that can support full-sized laptops, along with built-in 110-volt outlets.
  • Comfortable front-row seating, which was complemented by the optional Magnetic Ride Control suspension system.
Leather stitching on the armrests, plush padding on the front and rear window sills, along with a leather steering wheel, adds a level of luxury to the 2021 Tahoe interior.

Flaws of the 2021 Tahoe

As with most vehicles in its class, the 2021 Tahoe suffers from its size and poor fuel economy, achieving a measly 11 mpg in town and 24 mpg while on the highway. Derogatory marks against the Tahoe include:
  • Non-responsive brake pedals that might take drivers time to get used to.
  • A tall hood that might block pedestrians from the driver’s line of sight.
  • An emergency hazard light switch that’s hard to reach.
  • Body roll around corners that occupants will have to brace for to avoid being jostled.
  • Lack of standard off-road features for a vehicle of its size.
As Consumer Reports highlights, the 2021 Tahoe interior doesn’t make up for the rest of the vehicle’s flaws. With poor braking time and emergency handling as well, the 2021 Tahoe suffers in terms of practicality, despite having been redesigned.

The Chevy Tahoe’s growing pains

With a fresh redesign that didn’t quite stick the landing with Consumer Reports, it’s possible that the 2021 Tahoe interior is a promising sign of what’s to come. In the meantime, this SUV probably shouldn’t be a buy for those who are curious.
With 10 current recalls for the 2021 Tahoe, including some major engine, cooling, and transmission issues, it might be better to opt for something smaller, more reliable, and a little more gas-friendly, like the 2021 Highlander
