It seems silly to point out that Bill Gates is a rich man. While his extensive charity work has demoted him from the position of “richest person in the world,” the Microsoft founder is still a multi-billionaire.
All that money might make you think Mr. Gates would live lavishly at every chance he got, but some of his automobile choices show otherwise. A number of his vehicles are common to the typical American driver.
But Gates also knows how to have fun. He’s taken a liking to Porsches and has also owned cars made by Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, and Ferrari. His private jet cost a pretty penny, too.

In the early years of Microsoft, Gates was more known for living extravagantly and zipping around in fancy sports cars. But in the last decade, he’s taken a more conventional approach toward car shopping.
