The Aston Martin Valkyrie: The British Marque’s First Flagship Hypercar Rolls off the Production Line

Hypercar fans rejoice! The
Aston Martin
Valkyrie is about to descend from Valhalla for the masses to purchase.
Well, perhaps not the masses, but those with enough money in their bank accounts may have the chance to own one of these stunning hypercars. So when will the Aston Martin Valkyrie make its official debut, and how powerful is it? Here's what we found out.
The Aston Martin Valkyrie promises extraordinary power.

The Aston Martin Valkyrie is five years in the making

They say that good things take time, and the Aston Martin Valkyrie is no exception. In fact, it took a full five years for this hypercar to go from a concept to the production lines, according to
Motor Authority
.
This is a full two years later than expected, but for those who have eagerly been waiting, it might just be worth it.
It's not every day that you get to drive a Formula One car on the highway, after all. Or it wasn't, until Aston Martin decided to produce the next best thing: the Valkyrie.
There's an excellent reason why things are taking so long. The Valkyrie reportedly takes 2,000 hours of labor per car to assemble at Aston Martin’s Gaydon, U.K. plant.
The British company prides itself on producing hypercars that are perfect in every way, and the Valkyrie is no different.
In fact,
Autocar
reports that the Valkyrie got its name from Norse mythology, translating to “chooser of the slain” in English.
This choice purposefully represents the type of performance we can anticipate from the hypercar, which, according to the specs, will be truly mind-boggling.

Just how powerful is the Aston Martin Valkyrie?

According to Motor Authority, the latest addition to the Aston Martin family has a bespoke V-12 engine that can generate 1,139 hp.
If that's not impressive enough, Aston Martin decided to make the Valkyrie a hybrid vehicle. So not only does it look amazing, but it can help save the planet as well.
Given all this insane power, will the Valkyrie be a good daily driver? Can it handle being forced to go a mere 35 mph when it longs to leave its competitors behind on the track?
Time will tell, but at the moment, the only potential problem mentioned by Motor Authority concerns cabin access.
In keeping with the racing aesthetic of the rest of the vehicle, the individually-tailored seats inside the Valkyrie are reportedly designed much like those of a Formula One car, meaning the driver sits in a reclined position with their feet up.
This setup could be difficult to navigate for some drivers.

When will the Valkyrie be available for purchase?

The good news is that the first official Aston Martin Valkyrie has been completed, and will soon be shipped out to one very happy buyer.
The bad news is that there will only be 150 street legal Valkyries produced in total, so only a very few will be able to purchase one. Aston Martin will also produce 85 Valkyrie Spider convertibles and 40 track-only Valkyrie AMR Pros.
With small numbers like these, there might be quite a number of disappointed Aston Martin fans. But for those lucky enough to get their hands on a Valkyrie, the car promises to be pretty spectacular, indeed.
