2021 Ram 1500 TRX: The Fastest Dodge Truck

When it comes to pickup trucks,
Ram
has a lot of tough competition, so naturally, Ram has made some unique trucks in the past. For example, the Ram 1500 Lone Star is a truck that was inspired by, as some might've guessed, the state of Texas.
If that's not a thrilling enough option, Ram also made the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX, which may just be the fastest Dodge truck.
The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX can go off road really well.

Just how fast is the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX?

Obviously, when it comes to speed, one of the most important factors is what's under the hood. And, according to
MotorTrend
, the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX has a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that gets just over 700 hp and about 650 lb-ft of torque.
This is a very similar engine to the one on the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. But, to be clear, Ram is saying that this isn't a Hellcat engine. Regardless, that amount of power allows the truck to go very fast. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds, and it can do a quarter mile in 12.7 seconds.
Those numbers mean that this Ram is faster than many expensive sports cars. For example, the Mustang Bullitt, while it's one of the coolest Mustangs ever made, will be slower than the TRX. To be fair, however, while the TRX is faster in a straight line, it'll do worse around corners.

The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX still off-roads really well

In any case, while speed is one of the coolest factors about the TRX, the fastest Dodge truck, it's not a totally impractical truck, either. That's because, just like other trucks, the TRX can go off road really well.
Not only did Ram improve the exhaust so that it could go off road, but it also improved the truck's suspension. This allows the TRX to provide a rather comfortable off-roading experience, too. Furthermore, the TRX is also a comfortable truck on paved roads, so sitting inside one should be a fun experience overall.
And of course, the TRX definitely can do off-roading racing. That being said, the TRX isn't going to be cheap. It'll start at about $72,000, and loading it up with features can bring that price tag to over $87,000.

At that price point, the TRX is significantly more expensive than its competitors. For instance, the Ford Raptor, when equipped with a bunch of bells and whistles, will cost about $78,000.
Of course, the big difference between the TRX and almost every other pickup truck on the block is what's under the hood. Simply said, as the fastest Dodge truck, there are few, if any, pickup trucks that can match the TRX's power and performance. The only things that do are actual sports cars.
But, there are two big exceptions. The Rivian R1T is definitely a faster pickup truck. The problem, of course, is that deliveries of the R1T are slow, and many have been delayed. As such, few folks have their hands on an R1T right now. The other exception is the GM Hummer EV. The Hummer EV will probably be faster, but it won't be available for a while, either.
While the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX is the fastest Dodge truck, you’ll also want speed when it comes to getting a new car insurance policy.
