The Cayenne offers several powertrain options to choose from. The base is a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine capable of 335 horsepower. The engine launches the Cayenne from 0-60 mph in 5.6 seconds. The S trim level boasts a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine with 434 horsepower.
The GTS trim comes with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine that makes 453 horsepower. On the Turbo, the same engine outputs 541 horsepower and 567 lb-ft of torque.
The powertrains on the Macan are somewhat simplified. The base model features a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine, which offers 248 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The S model comes with a 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 engine that produces 348 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque. 
The GTS comes with a 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 engine that makes 375 horsepower. The top-level Turbo trim offers the same engine as the GTS model but makes 434 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque.
The Macan Turbo will accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds, while the Cayenne Turbo needs 3.9 seconds for the same. That speed is quite impressive for an SUV. 

Interior features and tech comparison

Both the Macan and Cayenne come packed with plenty of interior tech features. The Cayenne offers a standard 12.3-inch touch screen infotainment system with all the latest widgets and connectivity. It has an optional wireless phone charger under the armrest and standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The sound system is a Burmester High-End Surround system with 21 speakers. The Cayenne also offers a rear-seat entertainment system that features two 10-inch screens. 
In comparison, the Macan comes with an impressive 12.3-inch infotainment system that can access Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It has a similar sound system that’s optional and a standard 12-speaker Bose stereo. Like the Cayenne, it also offers a wireless phone charger and a rear-seat entertainment system.
