(CR) reviewed the 2010 Honda Accord and had quite a few praises for the midsize sedan.The Accord ranges from $7,475-$8,975, making it an affordable used car. CR rated the Accord at 4 out of 5 in Reliability, which is pretty good for a car from 2010.
Compared to other 2010 models, it’s not as reliable as the 2010
Toyota
Camry. However, it is miles ahead of the Ford Fusion and the Hyundai Sonata. A faulty electric system seems to be a common trouble spot. Car owners have complained about broken lights and alarms that need repairing after they bought the car.
There was a recall on the cylinders in the engine a few years ago. It’s important to check whether the engine has been fixed by the previous owner. If the Accord is bought under a salvage title, it might not be able to be repaired via the recall.

Driving and handling appear to be pretty good for an older car
The 2010 Honda Accord LX-P model has a 2.4-liter and 177 horsepower 4-cylinder engine. It delivers an estimated 23 mpg in mixed driving on regular fuel.
The EX-L model is a good 3.5-liter V6 with 271 horsepower. It returns an estimated 21 mpg.
As for transmission options, the manual one gets 26 mpg overall. The five-speed automatic transmission has very smooth shifting and great responsiveness.
CR noted that a possible issue with the shifter is that it slides from D to D3 a bit too easily, potentially wasting fuel.

Interestingly, the V4 model has a slightly quicker steering response. The V6 feels weightier to drive. If you want to turn a corner, rest assured that the Accord is very secure and predictable. It has a good grip with a balanced breakaway.
Braking performance is responsive and great. CR tested for panic stops and deemed the Accord safe and reliable on both wet and dry surfaces. It also did well on the crash and rollover tests.
The standard stability control is rather well-calibrated. The V6 does have an advantage in this area compared to the V4.
Overall, the 2010 Honda Accord has excellent handling for an older car.
Cabin appearance and comfort
