brings to light, the company behind this powerful new battery is CATL. Though you may not have heard of them, they’re actually the largest battery manufacturer in the world. They’re based in China and are gearing up to start producing this new battery, the Qilin—set to deliver a whopping 620 miles of range. Will the Qilin EV battery be available in the U.S.?
So far, it’s uncertain whether U.S. car manufacturers will be able to get their hands on the Qilin EV battery. Currently, China has a large monopoly on many of the world’s raw materials needed for producing EV batteries, so if U.S. companies do get the Qilin packs, it will be expensive.
This translates into higher pricing for U.S. drivers, whether they’re shopping online or at a dealership. The good news is that

is planning on expanding the U.S. supply chain, finding non-Chinese sourced cobalt, graphite, and lithium. What EVs currently can match the Qilin EV battery’s range?

This title may not stick with the Lucid Air for long, considering that BMW has a new Gemini battery that might offer 600 miles of range, depending on what we see in the new BMW iX. Following the Lucid Air is the Tesla Model S
