Like many other car brands,
Mercedes-Benz
is preparing to go
fully electric by 2030
. The automaker is known for luxurious car models in personal and commercial markets, and it seems that their new vehicles will maintain that level of excellence.
The automaker recently released a teaser for the anticipated all-new Mercedes T-Class line of vans, which will debut at the end of April. The new lineup will likely debut in Europe before moving to other markets. Here is what we know about the new lineup.

The Mercedes T-Class is a premium small van

Mercedes is targeting car owners who would like to own private vans across Europe, where the number of private vans is significantly higher than in the U.S. It will also try to entice people who love touring or living in vans by offering quality MPV features.
The base model will be fully electric. However, as
MotorTrend
explains, there may be internal combustion and hybrid versions of the van on the market at some point, though both versions will be phased out by the year 2030.
This automaker positions itself as a small premium van for active lifestyles by creating a van that people will love to spend time in. The T-Class vans will also have a variable interior, which means that they will be configured beyond the folding of the back seats for added comfort and functionality.

The Mercedes-Benz EQV II could be the flagship Mercedes T-Class model

It is still unknown what the Mercedes T-Class lineup will include. However, most people are pointing to the Mercedes-Benz EQV II, the
all-electric van
for the global market, as a flagship model of what is expected. Given that the automaker has stated that the new EQV will get a new family architecture, this proposition could certainly be true.
However, it’s not clear whether the next generation of the van will be included in the new lineup.
Motor1
confirms that the all-new van will be revealed on April 26 at 8:00 am EST.
Besides, it is not clear whether the new T-Series will replace the Sprinter or
Metris
minivans sold in the U.S. These vans target commercial and utilitarian markets, whereas the T-Class will be targeting private individuals.

Mercedes T-Class may take up Van.EA architecture

A while back, Mercedes announced several all-new vehicle platforms from which to build its future models. By the year 2025, there will be all-electric models on each platform. Among the platforms is the VAN.EA, which is intended to create light commercial vehicles and purpose-made electric vans,
While Mercedes has not confirmed whether the Mercedes T-Class will be on this platform, it is expected that one or a few of the models may use the platform. Besides, according to
Autoevolution
, the vans on the platforms are expected to be like Renault's Kangoo vans.
Kangoo vans
like the one used by the pope are practical living spaces, but they are also regularly drivable vans.
