, the 2022 Mazda CX-60 is the most powerful road-going car that Mazda has released so far. It has a 2.5-liter I-4 engine that works with a 100-kW electric motor to generate 323 horsepower combined. This powerful PHEV engine will allow the CX-60 to go from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.8 seconds. Mazda also gave the car all-wheel drive as standard, though more options will be offered in the future. Some of those options will feature mild hybrid systems rather than a full plug-in hybrid powertrain.
That engine will not only allow the Mazda to be quick, but it'll also be very practical. It can tow up to 5,500 pounds, all while being a clean and green machine. Taken together, the CX-60 is a strong competitor against other luxury SUVs.
The 2022 Mazda CX-60 is a clean and luxurious machine
This Mazda SUV is a PHEV, which means that it has a sizable battery inside it. Mazda gave it a 17.8-kWh battery, and this'll allow the CX-60 to go 37 miles on battery-only mode. That range number is about standard for a PHEV of its size. In hybrid mode, the Mazda gets about 157 MPGe.
Inside the Mazda is a sleek premium cabin. It uses some luxury materials that make it nice to touch and comfortable to sit in. Mazda also gave the car some nice tech features.
Its main tech feature is a 12.3-inch horizontal infotainment screen. This screen will be compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which should allow the CX-60 to be a nice daily driver.

When can Americans buy this new Mazda PHEV?
Unfortunately for Americans, the CX-60 isn't coming to America anytime soon. Its fuel economy numbers came from European testing agencies, and many of its optional engines are certainly not available in the U.S.
Mazda isn't ignoring America, though. The CX-70, which is related to the CX-60 in many ways, is coming to the U.S. There are some significant differences between the two Mazdas however, with the CX-70 being bigger and not having several powertrain options.
Drivers who are looking for a clean Mazda to buy don't currently have too many options, as Mazda only recently released the MX-30. Currently, Mazda is only selling the EV version of the MX-30 in California.
Mazda will also offer a PHEV version of the car eventually, but right now the MX-30 isn't that attractive. The MX-30 costs about $33,000, and it only gets about 100 miles of range.
