2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5 charging time and fuel economy

Not all power is made equal. Instead of varying octane levels at the gas pump, you’ll have three different power output levels for recharging your Hyundai IONIQ 5. Let’s break it down.
Level 3 charging is available at a public DC fast charging station. Plug your IONIQ 5 into one of these, and you’ll be back on the road in no time! Seriously though, the 77.4 kWh battery can be charged from 10 to 80% in around 18 minutes or you can add 68 miles in a speedy five minutes.
Level 2 charging is your 220V or240V outlets, which are commonly found around refrigerators or other appliances. This is the most popular type of at-home charging, so you’ll want to make sure your garage is outfitted with one of these outlets before transitioning to electric. You can recharge your IONIQ 5 back to 100% in seven to eight hours.
Level 1 charging is your basic 120V outlet, which is the same one you plug your phone into! This will be your most inefficient charging method, but if you have time to kill, your IONIQ 5 will recharge at a rate of three to five miles of range per hour.
Now, what does a sufficiently charged battery do for your fuel economy? The Hyundai IONIQ 5 is wildly efficient, getting a maximum of 114 MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent). Think about it this way—the average driver spends about $30 to $60 per month on charging, which is much less than gasoline.

How does the Hyundai IONIQ 5 compare to its competitors?

So what makes the IONIQ 5 deserving of three critically-acclaimed awards by the Wold Car committee? Let’s take a look at the specs.
