The full technical details of the new Lotus Emira V6 First Edition are out. This is Lotus’ first new car in many years, so it has big wheels to fill. It’s not an electric vehicle, as many automakers
, the new Lotus Emira will use a supercharged Toyota 2GR-FE engine, a 3.5-liter V6. It’s supposed to have improved handling, power, and comfort compared to the Lotus Evora. It produces a nice 400 horsepower.
Six-speed manual transmission makes 310 pound-feet of torque. If you want the auto transmission, it’s a little more costly but will have a torque of 317 lb-ft.
The exact U.S. pricing is not out yet. In UK, the First Edition is priced at £75,995 (which is around $104,000 right now). Automatic transmission is an extra £1,800 (~$2,460).
Production of the Emira V6 First Edition begins soon at Lotus’ new $140 million facility in Norfolk, England.
Fancy design options for the Lotus Emira First Edition
The Lotus First Edition sparkles with upgradable features and gorgeous paint finishes. There are plenty of visual options. The First Edition comes with two-toned, diamond-cut 20-inch alloy wheels.
Lotus branded brake calipers can be special-ordered. These are exclusive to the First Edition, further increasing its collectible value.
The car will be launched in a clear Seneca Blue. Buyers can also choose from the striking Hethel Yellow, Magma Red, Shadow Grey, Nimbus Grey, and Dark Verdant.
Upon its debut, buyers can opt for one of four special trim packages at no extra cost.
First is the Lower Black Pack, which creates a glossy black look as standard for the front-bumper air blades, front splitter, side sills, and rear diffuser.
The Drivers Pack lets you choose between either the Goodyear Eagle F1 tires or the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
The Design Pack adds privacy glass, sports pedals, and a black Alcantara headliner.
The Convenience Pack installs nice front parking sensors, a rear reversing camera, rain-sensing wipers, and auto-dimming mirrors.
Luckily for car buyers, an entry-level base trim is planned to come out in 2023, starting around $80,000.
